Dead Space

EA Redwood Shores, 2008

For this one, I wanted to put the spotlight on UI and sci-fi interface sounds, giving the tech-heavy, claustrophobic world of Dead Space an extra sonic layer. I worked with a mix of synthesis and sound banks. I tried to layer and shape elements to create buttons, panels, and alert systems that feel tactile, futuristic, and consistent with the game’s aesthetic.

The goal was to make each beep, click, and hum feel like it belongs in the same universe, cohesive, believable, and slightly tense, without ever distracting from the immersion of the gameplay. There’s a lot of love in the small details, but I'd be happy to think what you think!

It was a fun exercise to blend synthetic homemade textures with real-world source material, keeping the sounds crisp, responsive, and immersive, and I learned a ton about crafting Sci-Fi UI bleeps and bloops.
